Vampires Everywhere resurrect after five year hiatus with the premiere of "Witch" from the forthcoming EP, 'The Awakening'

Armed with a new EP, a new record label and a new vision, the undead of metalcore make their emphatic return to revitalize the game.

It's been five long years since the the goth rock, metalcore amalgam of Vampires Everywhere released new music. After the release of the band's 2016 full-length Ritual, frontman Michael Vampire announced that the entity was disbanding for a second time, leaving fans bewildered at what seemed to be an immediate halt in what was a resurging band.

Though the band's architect in Michael Vampire would go onto to release music with his Dead Girls Academy moniker, the band that won fans over with releases like Lost In The Shadows, Kiss The Sun Goodbye, and the formative Hellbound and Heartless has since been romanticized as the glam-influenced, goth-obsessed dark horse of the metalcore ranks that ended far too soon.

Until now.

Vampires Everywhere have emphatically announced their return after their extended hiatus with the news of a forthcoming EP, the unveiling of the introductory single in "Witch," and their partnership with one of the the game's most respected purveyors of counter culture in Cleopatra Records. In his return to his post at the helm of Vampires Everywhere, Michael Vampire shared his excitement over the band's next chapter.

“I am super proud of "Witch" our first single off our upcoming EP on Cleopatra Records 'The Awakening'. Me and Craig Pirtle (guitars) set out to write an album based on our love of 808's, the emerging shift in rock culture, & goth rock. We wanted to stray far away from our last musical endeavor with DGA and write something purely based on our love of music. We didn't want to focus directly on radio and took a more organic approach to the writing."

After the extended time away, Michael found himself in a unique position that required the balance of nurturing his evolution as an artist while still retaining the integrity of what fans have come to know from Vampires Everywhere. He explained how the resulting songs brought together the familiar and the fresh. "It's been over 6 years since I screamed in that specific tonality and knew it would be special. We decided to write all the songs on "The Awakening" based on synth beatlines. We wanted the beat of the song to tell the story before I even laid down the vocals. I can say it's been a massive learning experience writing like that and I found it super refreshing! I also wanted to focus on the sound all the fans are used to and loved throughout the band's past 11 years. When you listen to the EP as a whole you will instantly feel VE nostalgia with a fresh twist of 2021! I wanted an album my fans would love but also wanted to keep things up to date and fresh feeling. Nothing is worse than dated rock music!"

With the arrival of a new single and a pending new EP, the band has also cemented their futures with a new record label. Finding a reputable creative ally, Michael explained the significance in signing the dotted line. "I am excited to announce Vampires Everywhere has signed to the iconic Los Angeles-based record label Cleopatra Records! Cleopatra is known for its eclectic roster and legendary artists ranging from Megadeth & Smash Mouth all the way to DMX (RIP).I am very grateful to be part of the Cleopatra Family and stoked that they believe in my vision. Cleopatra has kept the goth scene alive for decades and it's an honor to be a part of their amazing legacy! Great things to come!”

Coupled with the debut of new music, a new label, and the new era of the band, Vampires Everywhere will also be hitting the road to reconnect with fans this fall. VE will be joined by Assuming We Survive, The Bunny Bear and Fate Destroyed for an October run that appropriately wraps on Halloween weekend in the city of Lost Angels.
