Metal enigma Kissing Candice debut demented new visual for the track, "Inveterate"

- By Ramon Gonzales

The video showcases a new look for the band brought to life by the legendary Tom Savini and special effects artist Jason Baker.

The latest in a succession of singles from New York metal outlier Kissing Candice, "Inveterate" follows the arrival of “Tapeworm”, “Raise Her” and “Brand New Low” -a track that included a guest spot from Jamie Madrox horrorcore champs, Twiztid.

Previewing the band's forthcoming independent full length effort MANIFEST, the track offers a modern take on nu-metal, bridging elements of electronica, industrial and metal into one seamless presentation. Turning to producer Zach Jones (Fever 333, Chelsea Grin), "Inveterate" highlights why Kissing Candice continues to thrive on a underground level.

Paired with the arrival of the latest track, Kissing Candice have unveiled a dynamically demented new look. Recruiting legendary prosthetic makeup artist and horror icon Tom Savini for the visual upgrade, Kissing Candice also brought on Jason Baker who created the masks used by frontman Aunt Donna, along with Jeff Koncor who made the masks worn by the rest of the band. The horrific new aesthetic underscores the eerie effect of the track.

Kissing Candice guitarist Dreamer spoke about the unveiling of their latest album preview. "Inveterate is about an experience through an often treacherous path in life, where you know the outcome will be the same and one nut you can't quit. It always results in a negative result, you could have avoided it the whole time... but you gave in."

Vocalist Aunt Donna offered some insight on how the visual came together and how working with director Tom Flynn ultimately propelled the project to reach it's full artistic potential. "This video captured the vibe of the song very naturally. Beginning with a completely blank slate, we put our ideas in front of the camera and let Tom Flynn interpret them and bring them to life."
