Heavy Haul: Escuela Grind Ramps Up Their Momentum On the Ball and Chain Tour

The band submit photos from their current tour which have seen some of their best crowds yet and tease new music in the works even as they trek across the country.

Escuela Grind continue to put the world of heavy music on notice with their 2024 Ball and Chain Tour. Bolstered by a rotating line up of support that includes Take Offense, Come Meirda, Slow Pulse, Bonginator, Frog Mallet, and Brat. Underscoring the band's obvious connection with fans, each stop on the tour thus far has been defined by chaotic energy, resulting in frenzied pits, stage dives and true to form - maybe a little grindcore twerking.
Trekking in support of the band's third EP in the series, 'DDEEAATHHMMEETTAALL' pays homage to the tiers of musical extremity that have served to influence the band. Selections from the effort were also refined with the stage translation in mind. That kind of forethought has loaned itself to such effective live sets on this particular run, as Escuela Grind have best figured how to fire up the fans both on record and in the flesh.

Taking inventory of the run thus far, the band submitted a glimpse of life on the road with a handful of images and some first-person insight with a tour diary for the Knotfest Heavy Haul column. The band detail the kind of unprecedented response they have seen on the Ball and Chain Tour, the dynamic in transitioning into a five-piece and reveal they that even while on the road, they are working on new music.
See the latest entry of Heavy Haul from Escuela Grind below.
Escuela Grind - "Every show so far has been kicking ass! We had our craziest Oakland show ever and over 250 people came out to see us on a MONDAY in Albuquerque which was wild!
The response we’ve gotten has been some of our best ever - we feel so honored!"
Escuela Grind - "Switching to a 5 piece has been intense. The response seems to be amazing though. Thank you for coming out to experience it!
One of the coolest things about this tour is the mix of shows in traditional venues and more DIY spots, but every single one has crushed!"
Escuela Grind - "Even as we tour we’re wrapping up work on our new album. We have a really sick artist lined up you’re all going to be thrilled about, and the mastering process should be finished this week. Get fucking ready, this is going to be our biggest year ever."
